IES Ramiro de Maeztu

IES Ramiro de Maeztu  is a state High school of reference in Madrid. It was settled in 1939 after the end of the Spanish Civil War, replacing the Instituto Escuela, founded by the "Institución Libre de Enseñanza" in 1918.
Since our opening, we have tried to widen our international dimension, by means of enhancing foreign languages teaching through cultural trips, language exchanges or participating in several international projects, such as Global classroom. It is worth mentioning we have become both English and German bilingual school in 2006.
Furthermore, we have improved Spanish Education standards by quality projects, such as IB Diploma, which has been  taught in our school since 1982. Also, we are currently participating in the UNESCO Associated Schools Project network.
